Insane Review #1 ROTF

Alright, finally decided to go through with it, I'm tired of negative reviews and such for movies all of the time. My first official review. Spoiler Free.

Insane Review: Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen

Rundown: PG-13 for sci-fi action violence, language, some crude and sexual material, and brief drug references. So probably not the best for young, young children this time around.

Running Time:
Close to two and a half hours. Go beforehand or you're be holding for a while.

Michael Bay delivers to us the sequel to the blockbusters from two summers ago, production was halted for a bit during the Writer's strike and finally rolled out into theaters this week.

Premise: Optimus, Sam, and the gang return to battle the Fallen (Think Ropotic Hilter and Napoleon, seriously bad dude) on the final battleground of Earth.

My Thoughts: Transformers was one of the things I grew up with and am very familiar with. Those familiar with the 1980s series will remember it; giant morphing robots fighting giant morphing robots. Not much to work with since the series was based off toys.

My overall impression of the movie when I came into the ligh... Great so far from what else came out this year. The Sci Fi big ones that have come and gone were Star Trek, and Wolverine, one which was fun, the other 'meh, not bad'.

As the plot goes, its a bit clouded sometimes, but what do you expect from a series thats about giant fighting robots. So do not expecting a thinking movie.

Special effects are off the top, Bay really went into detail with the battle scenes this time around enough to if there was a Cybertron this movie would be rated 'R' in their world. This movie has eye candy that should settle the fans right down, including the return of Frank Welker.

And about the twins... Not so much hate towards them from, not the ones I was expecting but still enjoyable to watch. I didn't find them offensive at all, like some of the critics say, though I don't get how Spongebob got pulled into the Transformers Universe still... But thats for later on...

Verdict: Don't go expecting a deep thinking movie, go expecting giant robots vs giant robots getdown without really having to think too hard. ROTF was made to be entertaining without having to think real hard about it and lots of things blowing up (Bay trademark) that will satisfy anyone's need for eye candy. Great jokes throughout, though some jokes go a bit far once in a while but overall a great and fun popcorn flick that will be at the top this summer, probably right after next installment of Harry Potter. Does it deserve a Threequel; I pleasently think so. I want to see me some big screen Unicron.

INSANE APPROVED

  1. I'd say it was a pretty good movie. It made me think on my feet and wondering what's around the next corner. Hehe, Jetfire was so cute for a grumpy, old man. ^_^ He had such an interesting personality.

Took me awhile to remember I had an account here and took me an even longer while to remember my username and password and create my own blog. So, anyway, I'm here too, though the thing seems to be awful slow for me and I have a ridiculously fast Internet connection.
